About Me

I have been in the advertising business since 1983. During this period, I have worked in nearly every type of advertising imaginable. I began my career selling advertising for a new, small Christian radio station is Savannah, Georgia. I then worked for a company selling "reader newspaper ads" over the phone in Savannah. I decided to open my own company of this type in 1983, at the age of 23. After finding that this type of advertising was not very effective for my customers, I started a Christian Newspaper. In 1985 I started an independent yellow pages in Douglas County, which I sold in 1990. After moving away for about 5 years, I returned to Douglas County and opened a business selling advertising on Papa John's Pizza "Box Toppers". I also ran a flyer delivery service, which grew to where we delivered around 100,000 pieces per week. In 2000, I started what I thought would be a neighborhood newsletter called Chapel Hill News & Views. Over the last 10 years it has grown to a circulation of 38,000 per month, and we have added a second publication called Villa Rica News & Views, as well as a quarterly historical publication called Living History / HIPP Magazine.
